Intoleran

Initially there was only one strength ('Quatrase' and 'Fibractase') and then later a stronger Forte strength for both of these products. However, as the Forte is the preferred option for most customers and is the more cost effective option, the standard strength was phased out in late 2021. Therefore, you will find just the Forte for the Quatrase and Fibractase. Fructase (formerly Lutomerase) is simply called Fructase as there has only ever been one strength, but it is at the same level as a 'Forte'. Similarly, the 3,000 and 10,000 Lactose options were also phased out, and our range is Liquid, Mini Tablet and Forte Tablet, as well as an innovative Once-A-Day probiotic, which covers the range of needs. 3,000 was Intoleran's (then Disolut) first product back in 2008, but has since been superseded, despite it being a sentimental favourite!

Our Lactose range has been refined down, but does have a few more options compared to our other food intolerance ranges. Here is a helpful summary below but more detail of course can be found on the product page for each Disolact Forte 20,000 FCC - this is our strongest, it comes as a tablet so you can have the flexibility of breaking it in half, or having the full tablet if you are highly intolerant or having larger amounts of lactose in you meal/drink. This is the heavy duty option, and strongest Lactase supplement in Australia. Disolact Liquid - this can be added to a non-acidic lactose containing product such as liquids (milk) or creams, either at the time of eating/drinking or prior to (doses for those two situations differ). Disolact Once-A-Day - this is actually a unique option, this is not an enzyme, rather, it is a probiotic taken once a day that encourages our body to produce the enzyme required to digest dairy. This may be a favourable option for those wanting full day coverage or don't want to have to take a tablet/capsule before each time they have dairy.

Many of our enzyme based products taken at the time of meal/drink have a range of 1 to 3 capsules. Starting on the high dose when you first try a product, seeing your response, then tapering (or reducing) down to a smaller dose the next time, you can do this until you can see the minimum dose your body needs to avoid triggering symptoms of your food intolerance. In most cases, 1 capsule is enough for a standard serving and maybe 2 if you feel you are having a larger amount of triggers. Everyone's intolerance is a little different, so it really depends on your response. Starting with at least 2 capsules will allow you to more definitively tell if the product helps you or not, rather than being unsure if perhaps it wasn't a high enough dose, then trying only one capsule a second time. 3 capsules is very unlikely to be needed, but 1-3 is the range we can recommend and may be helpful to know for those with a more severe intolerance.
